January 2004, the trip to Kenya continues to feature as my best holiday ever despite the passage of almost 2 decades. Everything that one can dream of or has seen on National Geographic is amplified a 100 times over when one goes to KENYA. 04/01/2004 – Depart London for Nairobi 05/01/2004 – Nairobi (National museum and Bomas of Kenya 06/01/2004), after a couple of nights in Nairobi we started our safari, first stop was Samburu 07/01/2004 – Samburu 08/01/2004. Left for Aberdares, watched the Kikiyu dancers 09/01/2004, spent the night up on a tree house where Queen Elizabeth spent her last night as princess, next day left for Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha 10/01/2004 and finally Masai Mara on the 11/01/2004 – Masai Mara 12/01/2004 – Masai Mara. On 13/01/2004 left for Mombasa, saw Fort Jesus, Swami Narayanan Temple, Wood Carving Factory on the 14/01/2004 along with Snorkelling, and then flight back to London Heathrow.
