It was Mahi’s 1st Birthday. We wanted to do something special. She was having a party on the ensuing Sunday so we decided to book a cottage in New Forest for a few days over her Birthday. We were joined by Anirban da and family and it was nice to have them around as Mahi and Anish had a good time going up and down the stairs. We also saw some of the familiar sites including Arthur Conan Doyle’s permanent resting place and lots of New Forest ponies. It was quite nice to be away from home but actually not have to do anything in form of site seeing. I did however go away one afternoon to meet up with the Clinical Director of services in Southampton as I was considering moving there as a Consultant. We do have some treasured memories from the trip, particularly of Mahi’s birthday. Monjistha had taken all the ingredients for cooking and leading up to the birthday did what she has always done i.e. cook a full 5 course Bengali meal with 5 different vegetable fries. Mahi only ate the rice pudding and the rest I consumed.
